7 AUGUST 2011

Dear friends,
Hello, how are you? I am pretty good here. I hope you are always in a pink of health and happy as well as your beloved family.

I am so sorry to hear that life is getting you down at the moment. Goodness knows, it can be so tough when nothing seems to fit and little seems to be fulfilling. I am here to share with you about some ways to overcome depression but I am not so sure if there is any specific advice I can give that will help bring life back its savour. Although they mean well, it is sometimes quite galling to be reminded how much people love you when you do not love yourself that much.

One simple way to simply overcome depression is to get involved with different activities and new hobbies. It will give you something to do besides focusing on everything you feel is wrong with your life. It will also give you something to discuss with others so you will perform better in social situations and possibly make new friends. In addition, you should focus on a variety of activities. You should find things that you find relaxing such as meditation or yoga.
Depression often causes people to be too afraid of failing to try new things. So, you must overcome that and do things that may not be very familiar to them. Besides that, you should also try to avoid negative thinking and focus on the good things in life instead of the bad. Often, it is too easy to get caught up in what is wrong and people forget to appreciate the good. Negative emotions will cause you  to stop trying and instead of getting out of the situation that is upsetting you, you only make it worse with your negative self talk.
However, never underestimate the effectiveness of talk therapy. Individuals living with major depression often rely on prescription medications to improve their condition. But if you are trying to deal with depression naturally, skip medications and consider speaking with a mental health professional. Regardless of whether you are battling moderate or severe depression, these trained experts will diagnose your condition and recommend a reliable treatment plan. Overcoming depression naturally often involves recognizing situations that trigger sadness, altering your mindset and developing a support system. By means of therapy, you'll learn how to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts and how to deal with problems.
Instead of dwelling on problems, you should work on fixing them. Some situations are not as bad as you may seem to someone who is already upset. Picking one problem at a time to fix will make things begin to seem better. There are many solutions to be found online and family and friends will also lend a helpful hand if asked. In the other hand, having a close network of friends gives you connections to reach out to in times of trouble. Friends will help you feel more connected and less isolated and alone, which can also help with your feelings of depression.
Furthermore, you should try to notice when depression occurs, what seems to cause it and the times of day you feel most depressed. You should also keep track of when they feel happy and what activities you feel enjoyment from. By also journaling happy experiences, positive traits about yourself, and uplifting quotes, you will be learning how to focus on the positive. Relaxation, meditation, and exercise are other good ways to combat depression.
Last but not least, you should stimulate your mind and body by doing a regular exercise routine such as walking, jogging, cycling, biking and etc. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise a day to lower anxiety levels and stop depression. You also can take vitamin supplements and you can purchase these supplements from local health-food stores or pharmacies. Like antidepressants, supplements and herbs encourage the production of brain chemicals such as serotonin, which balance moods and reduce depression. Speak with a doctor or pharmacist prior to taking a supplement for a mood disorder.
I think that’s enough for now. I am sorry but I have to finish. I really hope to hear back from you when you get a chance. Take care!
Sincerely,
syafikah
